Services
Policy, Planning, and Research
We support agencies, utilities, and advocacy organizations with modeling-based research, code development, and market transformation strategies. Our work bridges technical rigor and actionable insight, empowering policy innovation and better programs.
Parametric Energy Modeling
We conduct advanced parametric studies using custom scripting and modeling automation to evaluate technology performance, cost-benefit thresholds, and design sensitivity. Our studies support code proposals, incentive program development, and planning policy.
Technology Research and Market Assessments
We conduct technical reviews and field studies of emerging HVAC, envelopes, and control technologies. We analyze performance potential, cost, and market barriers to support pilot design, program scaling, and decarbonization strategies.
Energy Code Compliance Pathway Development
We help shape the future of code compliance by supporting the development of new modeling pathways, simulation protocols, and performance metrics. Our work informs backstops, baseline development, and policy mechanisms that align compliance with actual energy and carbon savings.
Building Energy Modeling
We develop high-fidelity building energy models that serve as a decision-support tool throughout the design and construction process. Our models are calibrated for both new and existing buildings and support a wide range of goals—from compliance to decarbonization. Our approach centers on using modeling to optimize system design, enhance occupant comfort, and reduce operational carbon and cost.
Net Zero Energy
We support the path to Net Zero from feasibility studies through to final design. Our team uses parametric simulations and system-specific modeling to evaluate load reduction strategies, system configurations, and photovoltaic generation potential. We integrate energy modeling with utility rate structures and time-of-use considerations to evaluate net metering and grid alignment for financial viability.
Energy Code Compliance - California Title 24
Our team has extensive experience with California’s Title 24, Part 6 energy code. We support both prescriptive and performance pathways using CBECC tools and custom workflows. For complex or atypical systems, we develop documentation, alternative compliance strategies, and collaborate with local jurisdictions and third-party reviewers to resolve compliance challenges.

Energy Code Compliance - IECC & ASHRAE 90.1
We support national and international energy codes using ASHRAE 90.1 (ECB and PRM), IECC Total Building Performance, and local jurisdictional amendments. Our deep knowledge of code baselines allows us to optimize compliance outcomes while supporting performance improvements that align with owner goals.
Green Building Certifications
We support energy modeling components for LEED, WELL, and other green rating systems. Our work contributes to credits such as Optimize Energy Performance, Thermal Comfort, and Daylight. We integrate our model results with mechanical, lighting, and envelope design to support holistic, high-performing building certification strategies.
Daylight & Energy Interaction Modeling
We provide integrated analysis of daylight and energy performance to guide façade design, shading strategies, and lighting control integration. Our modeling helps balance daylight access with glare mitigation, thermal comfort, and energy savings.
Capabilities include: spatial daylight autonomy (sDA), annual glare metrics (DGP), point-in-time illuminance, LEED daylight credit calculations, and Radiance-based renderings.
When integrated with energy modeling, we evaluate trade-offs between window sizing, shading, and HVAC performance to support envelope design decisions.
Education and Training
We empower industry professionals with the tools, skills, and context needed to make better energy decisions. Our training programs are informed by real-world project experience and policy engagement.
Industry Engagement projects
We design and lead initiatives that bring together regulators, designers, and advocates to share knowledge and accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency technologies and strategies. These include workshops, roundtables, and pilot demonstrations.
Structured Trainings and Knowledge Building
We deliver custom and off-the-shelf trainings on energy modeling tools, code compliance strategies, HVAC fundamentals, and emerging technologies. Formats include live virtual sessions, recorded modules, and interactive sessions.
Existing Building Optimization
We bring deep expertise in building systems and operational data to improve the performance of existing facilities. Our services identify energy, comfort, and maintenance opportunities while supporting long-term planning.
Building Performance Assessment
We evaluate existing building systems, envelope performance, and energy use patterns through site walks, data analysis, and simulation. We identify opportunities for upgrades, controls tuning, and load reduction strategies to support decarbonization and cost savings.
Operational Data Analysis
We analyze building automation system data, utility billing, and interval metering to uncover inefficiencies, verify savings, and guide operational improvements.
